Velo Berlin 2019

Last weekend we went to the heart of our capital again. The Velo Berlin was on and Christoph and I took position between approx. 500 brands and barley 300 exhibitors on the formerly airport Tempelhof.

Fair-Tetris

Slowly we are well trained when it comes to load our little van and we somehow know how to put everything where it belongs. The most important thing is that nothings happen to our bikes, everything fits in German fitting standard and that we do not forget anything.
While preparing everything we also had a small culinary session at our HQ-culinary studio and started in a fine mood, with filled bellies and the question – When do we realize what we did forget? – toward capital city.
Our trip was like our journey to the fair area: totally relaxed. Doors and gates were opened for us and we could bring our fair stuff on the right spot and arrange everything quickly.

Please, chill low

Although working on a fair seems to be fluffy, but it is demanding. Therefore time lapse of home and bed time has to be well balanced and used. We put this into practice right after finishing our booth.
Thus we strolled around this huge site of the movement area and let us impress by this scenery. With Kaisa and Anna of Pelago Bicycles we went right across the Tempelhofer Feld into Neuköln. Our mission: to snack something and have a drink to cease the day. In the end we found a small pizzeria with the greatest hits of 90s eurodance music and a cozy, but packed, pub. A nice hang-out to end a very long day right before sneaking in bed for some fair-beauty rest.

We are on fire!

After a short stop at a local supermarket we met up with Basti, who supported us with heart and soul again, at the airfield and got things ready for the opening.
On both days countless visitors flock through the hangars 5 and 6 to get counseled or to test all the new trending bikes and e-bikes on the bordering movement area. Right there the people of 8bar built a technical challenging race track where different competitions took place the whole weekend.
We pimped our booth with displays, catalogs and flyers of Triple2 that slowly but surely becomes our fair-partners in crime. In return our beloved Crumble in stunning fade-look was shown at the Bike Festival Freiburg. So we created some confusion, but could direct the visitors’ glances and question quickly back on our bikes. Exactly that was the sweet direct quote of all those interested that still warms us. Beside positive reception we were decorated by fire safety: apparently we have such hot stuff in stock they provided us with a fire distinguisher at our booth. Lit!
Aside from communicative remedy for our soul we enjoyed delicious snacks from the food trucks, ice-cream in the bright sun and I detoxed doing yoga with Timo Pritzel. Ever after the pigeon is the new dog.

Mille grazie Berlin!

Again we can look back on a thrilling fair-weekend and are glad that we decided to make this trip. Beside the good organization and a pleasant atmosphere the Velo Berlin 2019 deserves the record attendance of 20.000 visitors easily.
Who wants to meet us in person should put down June 22nd & 23rd. Then you will find us in Heidelberg at the Flare Bicycle Festival.
