Description

Everyday ready, long‑term durable

This build represents the most complete and self‑contained interpretation of the Purple Pie platform. The Pinion Dynamo + Mudguards Build is curated for riders who expect their off‑road bike to function reliably every day, across seasons, weather and long‑term use—without shifting the bike’s focus away from terrain and control.

From the first ride, the Purple Pie retains its defining sense of balance and composure. The centralised mass of the Pinion gearbox anchors the bike low in the frame, creating a planted, reassuring ride feel that benefits traction and stability on loose and uneven surfaces. Handling remains predictable and calm, allowing the rider to maintain confidence even when conditions deteriorate.

The geometry supports extended time in the saddle. A neutral, efficient riding position encourages steady effort rather than urgency, helping the rider settle into a sustainable rhythm over long distances. Acceleration is smooth and deliberate, prioritising grip and control over sudden bursts of speed. The bike feels patient, supportive and composed—characteristics that become more valuable the longer the ride continues.

At the heart of the build is the Pinion gearbox. Its sealed construction keeps the drivetrain protected from dirt, water and impact, allowing shifting performance to remain consistent regardless of conditions. Gear changes are deliberate and evenly spaced, reinforcing a ride style built around rhythm and continuity instead of reactive correction.

Full readiness without compromising ride quality

The addition of a dynamo lighting system and full‑coverage mudguards transforms how this Purple Pie is used, not how it rides. Light becomes a constant rather than a variable, and weather protection removes friction from repeated use in changing conditions. Riding is no longer dependent on forecast, daylight or preparation.

Importantly, these additions do not alter the Purple Pie’s handling characteristics. The frame integrates the equipment cleanly, preserving balanced weight distribution and neutral steering. The bike remains stable under load, calm through rough sections and predictable when pace increases. Nothing feels added for effect—everything feels intentional.

Mudguards support comfort and component longevity across repeated rides, especially in wet or dirty conditions. Rather than changing the bike’s personality, they extend its ability to be used frequently and consistently. The Purple Pie remains terrain‑focused, simply better prepared for real‑world riding.

Designed for durability, not moments

The Pinion drivetrain’s low maintenance requirements become particularly relevant in this configuration. With no exposed gears, derailleurs or fragile components, performance remains stable over long periods of use. There is minimal performance drift across seasons, fewer adjustments required and less wear to manage.

This durability is not a by‑product—it is a central design principle. The Purple Pie frame is engineered to work with the gearbox’s characteristics, resulting in a system that remains composed under sustained load, during long climbs and across extended off‑road days. Comfort accumulates gradually rather than peaking briefly, supporting rides that repeat week after week.

A clear place in the curated lineup

Within the Purple Pie range, this build represents the point where capability, independence and longevity meet. Compared to the Dynamo‑only configuration, it adds comfort and everyday usability through full weather protection. Compared to the Off‑Road Build, it shifts focus from purity to continuity.

It is curated for riders who don’t want to think of their bike in terms of “use cases.” Instead, the bike exists as a constant—ready when time allows, conditions shift or routes evolve beyond their original idea.

Riding as a constant, not an event

This Purple Pie assumes riding happens often and without ceremony. Dirt, rain, darkness and repetition are not treated as obstacles, but as normal parameters of use. The bike supports accumulation rather than optimisation—more rides, more distance, more days outside over time.

Nothing here asks for justification. Everything supports use.

A fully resolved off‑road build.
Everyday ready without redefining its character.
Curated for riders who want the balance, durability and calm control of a Pinion drivetrain paired with complete independence and long‑term reliability.
