Description

Modern control with long‑range readiness

This build takes the modern, wireless performance character of the Rival XPLR AXS Off Road configuration and extends it deliberately toward longer use, broader timing and greater independence. It is curated for riders who value contemporary control and simplicity, but also expect their off‑road bike to remain ready when rides extend beyond ideal conditions.

From the first ride, the Purple Haze feels composed and familiar. The geometry continues to prioritise stability and traction, offering a balanced riding position that supports extended time on mixed and loose terrain. Handling remains predictable, allowing the bike to stay calm when grip fluctuates or surfaces change unexpectedly. What this build adds is not a change of behaviour, but a wider operating window.

Wireless Rival XPLR AXS defines the control side of the experience. Shifting is immediate and consistent, allowing the rider to maintain focus on terrain, balance and pacing rather than mechanics. This clarity becomes particularly valuable when rides stretch longer and fatigue sets in. Fewer mechanical variables translate into fewer moments where attention is pulled away from the ground ahead.

The 1× drivetrain encourages a steady, uninterrupted riding style. Without managing a front derailleur, the rider maintains momentum across rolling off‑road terrain and sustained climbs alike. The wide‑range cassette supports variation in gradient and surface without pushing the bike into an overly specialised direction. The Purple Haze remains firmly terrain‑focused, but flexible in how that terrain unfolds.

Long‑range readiness without complication

The addition of a dynamo lighting system fundamentally shifts how this performance is used. Light becomes independent of planning, charging or foresight. Rides can start early, continue into dusk or simply run longer than expected without introducing friction into the experience.

Crucially, this autonomy integrates without altering the bike’s handling characteristics. The Purple Haze carries the dynamo system naturally; weight distribution remains balanced, and steering behaviour stays neutral. Acceleration remains controlled and predictable, especially important on loose or variable surfaces.

Wireless shifting complements this setup particularly well. With fewer exposed mechanical interfaces, the drivetrain continues to perform cleanly across dirt, dust and changing weather conditions. Consistency becomes an inherent part of the ride rather than something to be managed.

A capable middle ground in the curated lineup

Within the Purple Haze range, this build occupies a clear, intentional position. Compared to the Rival XPLR AXS Off Road Build, it adds independence and endurance‑oriented capability. Compared to the fully equipped Dynamo + Mudguards configuration, it retains a lighter, more open feel while still supporting extended use across time and terrain.

It is curated for riders who want modern systems but don’t want their riding constrained by daylight or preparation. Performance remains present, but it is allowed to exist beyond ideal conditions.

Riding that adapts to duration

This Purple Haze assumes rides will evolve. Routes may extend, timelines may shift, and surfaces may vary more than expected. The bike remains calm and predictable throughout, supporting continuity rather than forcing decisions.

Nothing here amplifies complexity. Everything reduces it—allowing the rider to stay engaged with motion rather than management.
